Bibliotel

Located in London’s historical building, Le Trocadero, Bibliotel is a crafted hotel brand identity based in comfort and nostalgia with an unexpected twist as a nod to the building’s varied history. The establishment boasts a restaurant, pub, cinema, and arcade, reflecting the building’s many lives.

The aim of the project was to create a hotel experience that celebrated the building's history–seedy and wholesome alike. In the late 1800s it was a site of libation and prostitution, transitioned to a restaurant in the mid-1900s, and was repurposed in the 80s-90s as SegaWorld in all its neon glory.

So, what do history buffs find comfort in? Libraries. The color palette was inspired by university library greens, marbled paper, and foil touches, eliciting a sense of comfort and reliability–a soft place to land after a long day of tourism.

And how might we supply a little twist to nod to both the seedier and arcade past? Custom wallpaper with a bit of cheek.
