THE STITCH
THAT BIT BACK
Concept:
For The Stitch That Bit Back — a textile arts exhibit that subverts tradition through sharp political and social commentary — the invitation was designed to evoke the spirit of a howler: whimsical and feisty. Paired with the exhibit’s bold red envelopes, the piece features an illustrated embroidered frame punctuated with bite marks and layered needlework-inspired textures and illustrations. The typography draws from the Hogwarts acceptance letter, capturing the cinematic feel of magical correspondence without directly replicating the howler itself.
The brochure extends this visual language through the stitched logo and typography, creating rhythm and cohesion while keeping the layout clean and understated.
